To mark National Pizza Day on the 9th February and to celebrate creativity and ingenuity in baking, I teamed up with MasterClass again to host our first "Inspiration" baking competition!
The idea was to create a pizza from something, anything that inspires you. It could be a sweet pizza, a decorated pizza, weird and wonderful flavour combination's or just a really good classic pizza! Inspiration and imagination could run free!
Resident MasterClass chef Peter Sidwell, myself and the MasterClass team picked 3 finalists from all the entries and made the finalists pizzas ourselves to choose our champ from a taste test. The champ would win an incredible collection of award winning MasterClass goodies, a THIS. hamper and a luxury gift tin from Spice Pots! The two runners up would each receive a Spice Pots set. The three finalists pizza recipes would also be published on my website.

We were really excited to see originality of ideas, interpretation of your inspiration and interesting flavour combinations.
The competition closed on the 8th February 2022 and I headed up to MasterClass HQ the next day to try the pizza's with Chef Sidwell and the MasterClass team!

The Winning Pizza!
Leek & Potato Soup Pizza - A regular base, Mornay sauce, caramelised leeks, roast potatoes, crispy bacon, parmesan & Rosemary.
Breakfast Pizza - Cheese & hashbrown stuffed crust, bean juice, black pudding, mushrooms, sausage, bacon, scrambled tofu, beans, cheese & tomatoes.
Butternut Squash Houmous Pizza - A regular base with butternut squash houmous, a cheese blend, roasted butternut squash, parsley and chilli flakes.
Hoisin Jackfruit Pizza - regular base, creamy hoisin sauce, roasted hoisin jackfruit & onions, red peppers, spring onions and a little MozzaRisella.
Meatless Feast Pizza - A herby tomato sauce on a regular base, vegan mozzarella style cheese, mushrooms, plant-based salami and mini chorizo.
Tofu Saag Paneer Pizza - regular base, tomato & garam masala sauce, topped with wilted spinach, baked marinated tofu. Fresh tomato & MozzaRisella.
